In the game "Creatures from Enceladus" you can try your hand at the complex practice of artificial selection.

At the start of the game, you get several creatures from Enceladus in small incubators:

You can also retrieve a new creature from the "BIO" capsule at any time:

In the large incubator, you can turn on the lightbulb in the top right corner. This will encourage the creatures to reproduce from time to time:

You can also make the creatures reproduce by dragging one onto another:

The objective: Create a creature whose structure matches the one displayed in the TARGET capsule. If you place an incorrect creature into this capsule, the screen will turn red. If you place the correct creature inside, the screen will turn green, the "completed" counter will increase by 1, and the creature will be teleported to another laboratory:

Your task only requires the creature's target structure. Its color, size, and pose are irrelevant:

You can drag creatures into the waste disposal bin to delete them:

The reproduction mechanism:

The largest common part shared by both creatures (circled) is guaranteed to be passed down to the offspring, and its color will be averaged. Segments unique to only one creature have a 50% chance of being inherited. If a unique segment is not passed down, any subsequent segments attached to it will not be passed down either. As a result, the further a segment is from the common part, the lower its overall chance of being inherited.
