I love bunnies! And to combine this love with a cozy and cute short game is an easy way to make me happy.
I finished the game in about 15 Minutes, but stayed a little longer to enjoy the little forest atmosphere you created. I liked the little particles floating around and thought to myself that it would be awesome if these were fireflies and the setting in nighttime. I definitely stared a bit to long at floating pixels. Anyway... it is nice that you don't necessarily have to wait until things respawn to finish it and get access to the little island and the minigame. My record: 40
If I may suggest one thing it would be to add a way to know if there are any carrots missing in the area you arein (might even add a number if you want to give more details). My boyfriend also played it and was not as diligent in completing an area before heading to the next. I knew there must be 15 carrots and didn't proceed without them. So I could finish it fast where he had to search everywhere again. So that might have been of help.

But even so the game is great as it is and a successful little project!
Thanks for nice review! There is a way to know if there are any carrots/pumpkins/berries still present in the area - the top left corner (the food counter) lights up orange if there’s something to collect.
Although this isn’t explained anywhere in the game (don't know what I was thinking). I'll make sure to clarify it or make it more obvious in a future update.
i love everything about it, especially the relaxing nature of it, and the vibrancy of everything, i can't name very many games that really touch me, but this is one. it is actually partly why I am trying to learn game dev right now, I want to make something like it but with ducks! but it still seems so far away from reality. If you don't mind my asking, did you do all the artwork/coding/sound design? and how long did it take you to make it? thank you for the game!
I did have some help with the art from a friend, which made a big difference. As for the sounds, they are either locally recorded or sourced from the internet if they were public domain or CC0. I worked on this game on and off for about a year, learning along the way and adjusting the core idea a few times :D
Best of luck with your own game! Ducks are fun little things.
it is really exciting, slowly realizing i can make my own game, as I learn and practice game dev with the Godot engine. It just tickles my heart to imagine that maybe one day my passion project could potentially be someone's favorite game.
if you don't mind my asking, would you have any advice for someone wanting to make a game similar to your own? was there any part of the process that gave you particular difficulty? or any resources you found particularly helpful along the way? thank you again. (:
(I used the wrong email for the first account and made a new one, a rather silly mistake)
Don't overcomplicate your ideas and don't overengineer your solutions, especially if it's one of your first games - that was my main takeaway from this project. Initially I planned to add puzzles, underground levels, a lost civilization, and much more. Had to downscope when I realized I couldn't pull it all off - just too much work. The game still turned out fine, apparently. As for the technical stuff that I had trouble with - I think it's all very much improved in Godot 4
Hi, I loved your game is such a cute and cozy game, still, there are some questions I would like to ask about the development of the game, if you don't mind answering them you can give me your email for me to send some questions, if not I understand.
are there more secrets than the island? its the only one i can find after finishing the game
it is such an adorable game and i havent had any of the bugs mentioned in other comments, the update must have been great! thank you so much for making it ^-^ so peaceful and pretty
There are small bunnies hiding in the bushes in some rooms. They'll pop their heads out if you are close enough to the bush and happen to click on it.
I'm glad you liked it, and I'm also glad you didn't encounter any bugs!
(I'm sure the bug is still present in the game, it just doesn't happen on all devices. I couldn't reproduce it on ~10 devices available to me, which makes it tricky to find and fix)
Bees will collect it for you. You need to buy flower seeds from the guy in the haystack, plant the seeds and bees will use the flowers to produce honey.
Hey! I love how cute this is! Unfortunately I’m having the same issues as a lot of other people with the disappearing graphics. I don’t have a different computer (Windows 11 btw) that I can use so I was wondering if there’s anything I could do. :) (ignore the pixelation, that’s just from converting to gif)
Thank you for the playthrough and the nice comment. It was interesting to watch, even though I don't understand Japanese. You petted the trader bunny with your mouse :D
Hi, this game is so cute! I just started playing it - I love the sounds, and the environments are so pretty!
I haven't been able to get very far with it though because i've been having a lot of issues with textures going translucent or invisible or popping in and out. I took screenshots of what the second and third areas look like for me - in certain areas the bunny will become visible again (usually at the bottom of the screen), and if i get him to hop to the left side of the first screenshot then the bunny on the log pops in too. some stuff like trees and bushes will become visible again if i run through them.
If it helps, my software is windows 11 and my hardware is an old surface pro 6!
Thanks for sharing your game regardless of the issue though; i love watching the bunny hop around, and running through mushrooms is very fun 🥰
I don't know if there was another update but for some unidentified reason this game just hangs now... it's been a month so I'm not sure what changed... I've had M$Windows 10 updates, maybe a graphics driver update and maybe you updated the game since I last played?
Edit: I tried re-installing it but same thing, no joy. Maybe I have a corrupted save?
I tried again with nothing at all running and I still get a window with a black background and then it just hangs... it has to be killed by Windows... it doesn't seem to be trying to do anything either. *shrug*
I'm running Windows 10 up to the 22H patches (I think) if that's any help. (Windows 11 shenanigans preclude me from going further than that but this is the main Windows 10 branch for those not able to upgrade to Windows 11 because MS says so - this laptop is better than my wife's but hers is on the upgrade path and mine isn't... *shrug*
I had the game hang while carrying one honey, one apple, twenty five carrots and two pumpkins, the crash happened when I transitioned from the second up area on the left to the third upper area on the left, the area loaded the graphics but every thing was frozen and I had to stop the program using Windows, even the window buttons didn't respond.
I had access to six areas, the starting area, one up and left (bunny), two up and left (apple), one up and right (bees), one right (frog) and two up and right (Tree). I had purchased one seed with honey and was going to purchase the seed for the berries before buying the seed with the berries.
I think I had bought everything else. I did this all in one session.
I'm going to try and replicate the hang now...
Edit: Reloading the game put me in the doorway just before the transition that caused the hang... I went through again there was no hang *shrug* If there's anything you'd like me to try I'm happy to help :)
Edit Edit: Just had another hang, again just after a transition, this time from bees to tree (see above). This was after I had gotten a golden carrot and planted a third flower for the bees... I had also explored every (7) area and spent a couple of times enjoying the sound... I'm wondering if it is a memory leak, buffer overflow - are the areas getting reloaded without being unloaded?
Hi, thanks for the nice review and feedback! I couldn't reproduce the hanging bug, but I did find some orphan objects that weren't properly cleared. So you are exactly correct - some objects were getting reloaded without being unloaded!
I've updated all three builds on Itch. Hopefully that will fix the hanging as well.
Wow, thank you so much for the really speedy reply and a potential fix no less!!
I'll try it out and cross my fingers, I know memory bugs and hangs can be really hard to track down but if it turns out to be leaky objects then you both never really know if you got them all but they are about the easiest thing to fix, so there's that! Ah, the joy of being a dev... definitely more of an art than a science! :D
Yeah, the problem was related to pathfinding. Sometimes the movement vector was too short to be accepted as a "hop", which resulted in this sliding behaviour.
A cute game with lovely atmosphere. I didn't play for very long though because there is a bug beginning from the second level where random objects, including the bunny itself, turn semi-transparent or completely invisible.
I just tested the game on my newer laptop and everything looks fine, so hopefully my old laptop is just an edge case you don't need to think about. I'm surprised though that there would be any graphical issues for a game with simple 2D sprites, maybe something to do with Godot 4 if you used that version.
Just old and sturdy Godot 3.5. I am however using some shaders and tricks with layers/lights to give shadows a bit more depth, so maybe that's what causing it.
Appreciate your testing. You even made the gif! Thanks.

it's helping me with my rabbit who just died. For making this game it's just really helping me feel better

i also use godot but PURE C more.
woooooooooooooooooow, How did you code this?? what engine do you use?
It's made in Godot 3.5

Very short, but very sweet game!
Is it just me but whenever I try to open the app, it downloads itself again
p.s. I am on Linux

I dont now how to get honey for de altar.

Yes of course. One hour after, I found a piece of honey on the ground and I can do the ritual and finish the game.
the game was very chill and relaxing :)

It was the cutest game with the fluffy, fuzzy bunnies flying around!
It was very hard to find all the carrots, but the excitement of finding them was the best, meow!
Also, the bunny with his belly perched on the round thing that exchanges items is my favorite and I want to fluff him up!
Fluffy fluffy fluffy!

Hey, my Bunny dont hop, he just slides. Is he supposed to hop?
It's a bug somewhere. Not sure where :(
Happens on some devices.
Maybe it has something to do with the mushrooms messing with the animation speed? Having it happen on Window, AMD CPU+GPU fit that helps.
I think I've managed to fix this bug. Could you please check if it's still happening on your machine? Builds are already updated.
Works fine, played a bit and no sliding problems at all. Might I ask what was the bug causing issues?
Thank you!
Yeah, the problem was related to pathfinding. Sometimes the movement vector was too short to be accepted as a "hop", which resulted in this sliding behaviour.
I somehow can't find more carrots for some cherrys for the altar :< do the carrots grow back at some point?
Yes, each carrot will respawn in an hour after you've eaten it. "Offline" time counts in too so you could close the game and open it an hour later.
thank youu!! :3 (really nice game btw)
A nice and relaxing game. Cute aesthetic to it.

Thanks for checking it out. Could you share what OS/hardware are you using?
OS: Windows 10
Hardware: Old laptop with some kind of integrated GPU. I don't know much about computer hardware so I can't help you there.
I recorded a gif of the problem. It's twice as fast as the actual recording but other than that shows the issue.
